IFMA Freestyle Motocross roars through Cincinnati.
Friday - Making two stops in separate cities across the country every weekend it is easy to forget just how high the caliber of riders is that compete on the IFMA tour. The bar is raised in any sport when athletes do something to have other athletes sit back and take notice. Everyone in the final Friday night pulled off tricks that accomplish that goal. Riders like Dustin Miller ripped off a "one handed superman seat grab Indian air to double grab" or Ronnie Renner's "pendulum to saran wrap". The sport is once again elevating itself through the creative new ideas that these professionals continually pull off week after week. Kenny the Cowboy is one rider who has gotten away from the "B" list of tricks and stepped up to an "A" list and that flat out is why he wins. Dustin Miller the rider who qualified the highest for the final round was unable to unseat the Cowboy in the finals. The Cowboy was quoted "All riders have the potential to win - guys that don't get the recognition are a threat to take the win every single night. I am just glad that tonight it was me."
Saturday - The enthusiastic crowd was on their feet when Kenny "the Cowboy" Bertram finished his final run. The hot seat was held by Jake Windham for three riders during the final round. Windham had a hard time making it to the final after a first round crash that sent him flying into the wall. In the second round he came out and stole the number two qualifying position. Windham took the hot seat from "Mad" Mike Jones who has been riding with allot of inspiration during the past weeks. Dustin Miller took the hot seat from Windham with a "Rock Solid Indian air" to no handed lander. Kenny Bartram was the only one left and he came up with a run of classic Cowboy style. The wins both nights by Bartram were difficult but were well deserved. It was another great round of competition in Cincinnati.
