The Shell Asia Talent Cup committee shortlisted 126 young hopefuls for a two-day test at Sepang circuit next month, to finalise the riders for the 2016 season.
After receiving more than 500 applications during the application period from aspiring young riders from Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Japan, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Rep. of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam, the selection committee shortlisted 126 candidates for the next stage.
Among the 126 hopefuls, five Indians were named for the two-day test which takes place on October 20th and 21st, 2015 at the Malaysian Sepang circuit.
The five Indians are Anmol Rattan Arora, Yashas Bhushappagala, Akash Gulla, Ahmed Kadai Yaseen and Amarnath Menon Kaipencheri.
Apart from the Indians, the list has 33 Indonesians, 32 Malaysian, 18 Filipinos (Philippines), 12 Australian, eight Japanese, six Thai (Thailand), four Chinese, two Vietnamese (Vietnam), two Kiwi (New Zealand), one Bangladeshi, one Korean (Rep. of Korea), one Qatari and one Nepali - all aged between 13 and 20 years.
These candidates will have to demonstrate their riding skills on Honda machinery during the test where the selection committee directed by Alberto Puig will finalise 22 riders for the 2016 season.
