HIGH FIVE FOR MACLEOD
Callum Macleod extends FF Championship lead with another win and lap record

Sunday, 29th April 2007: A dramatic race weekend in front of huge crowds at Brands Hatch saw 19-year old Callum Macleod basking in the glory of another win, a podium position, and a new lap record in his MOMO-backed Jamun Racing Mygale, in Rounds 5 & 6 of the British Formula Ford Championship.

This makes it four outright wins from five races so far this season for Northamptonshire's rising star of the track, and an extended Championship lead in this, the 40th Anniversary of the Championship that has been the breeding ground of many F1 drivers.

But things looked far from rosy early on... Driving with a broken clutch in race one, Callum fought magnificently from a unavoidably slow start, making it all the way to second overall at the chequered flag, despite the clutchless penalty, shattering the lap record in the process.

Stirling work by his team saw him storming back to his winning ways for Sunday's Round 6, a superb support race to the star-studded British round of the A1GP series.

Hitting the front early on, Callum pulled out a five-second victory at the flag and, in lowering his own lap record, entered his name in the record books as the first to lap the Kent GP circuit in a Formula Ford in under 90 seconds.

Callum and the team now have a four-week breather from the 25-round series, before heading for a hectic three-round schedule at Snetterton circuit in Norfolk on 2-3 June, where he will be looking to further build on his 30-point Championship lead.
