A change of venue has been announced for round six of this year's Maxxis Tyres Australian Motocross Championship, with the Blackwood Park circuit in Penguin (Tas) to replace Mt Kembla (NSW) on the calendar.
The round will still be held on Sunday, June 12.
"I travelled to Mt Kembla... and the club has some great plans in progress, but unfortunately we would struggle to get two semi-trailers into the pits," said Kevin Williams, the principal of championship promoter Williams Event Management. "I visited Penguin last week, and the club has done so much work since our last visit in 2002. The track is awesome and so are the pit facilities."
With Mt Kembla now a scratching from the championship, New South Wales will only host one round in 2005, with the remaining seven to be shared between Queensland (three), Victoria (two) and one apiece in Tasmania and South Australia.
The championship will commence in Wonthaggi (Vic) on March 20, and conclude in Conondale (Qld) on July 3. New Zealand duo Darryll King (Pro Open) and Cody Cooper (Pro Lites) will be the defending champions.
