Volkswagen celebrates hattrick at Oulton Park
Successful start to title defence: Volkswagen shone with three victories in the opening round of the British Formula 3 Championship at Oulton Park. In the first race rookie Jean-Eric Vergne (F) scored a lights to flag to victory including fastest lap in his Dallara Volkswagen. In the second race Vergne was fifth after having only started from the fourth row following the allocation of starting positions made by drawing lots. Victory went to his 19-year old Carlin team mate Rupert Svendsen-Cook (GB). In the third race Vergne celebrated his second win and, in doing so, put himself atop the standings by 17 points. Svendsen-Cook was third.

Six drivers start the new Euro Series season "powered by Volkswagen"
Six drivers with Volkswagen power in the Formula 3 Euro Series: Starting its new season this coming weekend (9-11 April) at Le Castellet (F) is the international talent factory, which has seen many of the current crop of drivers in Formula 1 and the DTM pass through its ranks. Volkswagen competes in the leading "star of tomorrow" series as engine supplier. The Signature and Motopark Academy teams rely on the 210 hp power plant from Wolfsburg. Starting in the title quest for Signature are Euro Series returnee and Macau victor Edoardo Mortara (I), Laurens Vanthoor (B) the current ATS Formula 3 Cup champion and Marco Wittmann, the only German in the Euro Series, joining them for Motopark Academy are Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (GB), Matias Laine (FIN) and Antonio Felix da Costa (P).

Operation title defence: Volkswagen partner team Van Amersfoort hunted by all
Engine supplier Volkswagen is prey for the first time in the ATS Formula 3 Cup: After Laurens Vanthoor (B) won the title in convincing style with races to spare last year, the team mate he narrowly beat, Stef Dusseldorp (NL), aims to move up a position in the overall standings in 2010 and clinch the title yet again for Van Amersfoort Racing. At the season opener between 9 and 11 April at Oschersleben he will meet many promising new talents, also "powered by Volkswagen", seeking championship honours. The 'new kids on the block' faction is, for example, represented by Daniel Abt who makes the next step up the career ladder within the Volkswagen family after winning the ADAC Formula Masters title last year. A total of eleven drivers compete in the ATS Formula 3 Cup with a power unit from Wolfsburg.

Opener at Oschersleben: who will be "tomorrow's champion" in Formula Masters?
The ADAC Formula Masters season starts this coming weekend (9-11 April) at Oschersleben together with the ATS Formula 3 Cup. A 1.6 litre Volkswagen engine producing 107 kW (145 hp) is mounted exclusively to the standard Dallara chassis used in the "star of tomorrow" series. The partnership between the ADAC and Volkswagen enters its third year in Formula Masters in 2010. Young men representing six different nations and a fast Swiss girl compete with the goal of following Armando Parente and Daniel Abt as champions. Both made the jump into higher formula racing series' immediately after their Formula Masters triumphs.

Wins for Didge Dziurzynski and Peter Felix
Full house at the Volkswagen Racing Cup season opener at Oulton Park (GB). Twenty-five drivers took the start at the first round of the popular British amateur Volkswagen series. Victory in the first race went to Golf driver Didge Dziurzynski ahead of Steve Chaplin (Beetle) and James Walker (Golf). In the second race Dziurzynski was second behind Peter Felix in a Volkswagen Golf GTI. Steve Chaplin was third.
