Formula 3 Euro Series
Jean Karl Vernay clinches podium place at EuroSpeedway Lausitz

With a third-place finish in Saturday's race at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz Jean Karl Vernay was the most successful driver "powered by Volkswagen" on the second race weekend of the Formula 3 Euro Series. Due to a collision in which he was not at fault the Frenchman from the Signature team only finished the second race in 14th place: However, after four of the season's 20 races he holds a promising fourth place in the standings, with just a three-point gap to the leader, Jules Bianchi. Red Bull Junior Brendon Hartley (New Zealand) celebrated two fourth-place finishes at Lausitz. After an accident in qualifying, the Finn Mika Maki managed scoring a championship point by finishing the second race in sixth place.

Daniel Ricciardo continues leading the standings

Henry Arundel (Great Britain) and Adriano Buzaid (Brazil) finished the sixth race of the British Formula 3 Championship in their Dallara-Volkswagen cars in second and third place. The Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished fifth and thus defended his lead in the standings. For the first race of the weekend, the Carlin Motorsport driver had secured his first ever pole position but retired as early as on the first lap after a collision. Best Volkswagen driver in the fifth race of the season was the Briton Max Chilton in fifth place.
