After the extended FIA European F3 Championship attracted teams and drivers from across Europe, the SRO Motorsport Group revised the scheduled Cooper Tires British F3 International Series earlier this year, with the full approval of teams to protect the long-term viability of the series.

There will be no date clashes with the FIA European F3 calendar and the schedule also allows SROMG to respect the exclusion for FIA F3 teams to race on a Championship circuit prior to the FIA event.

SROMG, the teams and the motorsport industry itself, are working tirelessly to ensure healthy grids. We hope to a achieve a target of at least fifteen cars per round in 2013, withfurther entries expected for the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa support event in July.

Benjamin Franassovici, Championship Manager: “In close co-operation with our partners Cooper Tires, we are committed to safeguarding the long-term future of the series and protecting its rich heritage..

The support we received when we made our announcement regarding the revisions to the series was overwhelming andassured us we are taking the right direction.

It was important to make a decision early. Current British F3 teams have replied positively and all are planning to enter cars. The National Class, now also open to cars from other series in Europe has been well received.

The right decisions have been made in good time to allow British F3 to continue beyond 2013. We will continue to do our best to support the series and ensure it retains its prestige as well as continuing to be seen as an essential step on the ladder to the highest levels of the sport.
