With three back-to-back race weekends, the 2006 British F3 International Series is building to a thrilling climax. Just four races remain: two at Silverstone this weekend and the season finale at Thruxton the following weekend. James Walker needs to score maximum points to secure the best possible Championship position to round off his 2006 British F3 campaign.
The Silverstone races will be held on the International Circuit. Do you know the track well and do you like it?
"We do a lot of testing on Silverstone's International Circuit, more so that the Grand Prix Circuit, and we're always pretty quick there. The characteristics of the track certainly suit my driving style so I'm going into the weekend with a high level of confidence."
You learnt the ultra-technical Mugello track very quickly and now you are going to a track you know well. How different will you approach be this weekend?
"Quite different! We're testing at Silverstone on Friday and because we know it so well we'll find our base set-up quickly, in about five laps, and then spend the bulk of the time working on the car to get the maximum performance out of it. We have a couple of developments to try out too so by having the basic knowledge we can concentrate on that and prepare for a good fight at the weekend."
Qualifying for the British F3 races takes place on Saturday at 1110hrs and 1430hrs, with rounds 19 and 20 running on Sunday at 1125hrs and 1535hrs respectively.
