The end of season British International F3 Series Awards Ceremony was held on Saturday evening at a London Hotel, and many of the drivers, teams and organisers of both the F3 and British GT series were there to receive their prizes.

Diana Binks, the popular TV presenter was on hand to introduce proceedings and a huge roar of approval went up from the crowd when asked if they wanted to watch the live England Rugby match on the large screen!

Following a delicious dinner, the ceremony commenced. Cheers and shouts of "small people"! (the Carlin team's nickname for him) were heard when Sam Bird (20, Claygate) went up to collect his "trophy" and cheque for Rookie Champion 2007. The BP Ultimate Driver talked about the highs and lows of his season.and what he hopes to achieve in 2008 - check out the BP Ultimate website to hear more of Sam's views and interviews.

He was presented with a superb oil painting of him winning at Spa, by Brian Davies, Sales Manager, Europe and USA, Avon Tyres Motorsport Division.

The successful evening concluded with dancing to a live band.

Sam is now concentrating on his driver coaching duties for Carlin and spending a lot of time in the gym, increasing his fitness levels so that he will be ready for whatever 2008 brings the MSA Race Elite Driver.
