Silverstone Friday, 22 June 2001- As the Green Flag British Formula 3 championship with Avon Tyres descends upon sleepy Wiltshire village of Castle Combe this weekend for the first time in 27 years, the crack Silverstone based Promatecme UK squad are optimistic about there chances after testing yesterday (Thursday).

Lead driver Bruce Jouanny was able to capitalise on his ability to learn tracks quickly and despite early engine trouble was able to register a respectable 8th fastest with a time of 1:00.389 (110.28 mph) which was just 0.705s off the fastest time set by Taksuma Sato of 59.684s (111.58 mph).

Jouanny was very upbeat after the session. "This is a very fast circuit that I really like", enthused the 23-year-old Frenchman, "I am really looking forward the races on Sunday".

"I really want to put in a good performance as I have a new sponsor", he continued, "it is a portal for British people who travel to France called intofrance.co.uk. It is great to have the opportunity to promote my homeland in such as creative way. I am really excited about this opportunity"

Teammate Atsushi Katsumata was a cautious 17th fastest at the test.

"This is a interesting track that should be fun" said the Japanese driver, "I am really looking forward to the race"

Team Boss Chris Weller was happy with the team's performance saying, "Both guys did really well, it is a good base from which to go into Saturday's free practice and qualifying. I think this will be a good weekend for us."

Qualifying takes place on Saturday and there are 2 races on Sunday.
