Alvaro Parente qualified on pole position for the second race of the weekend at Castle Combe session after an extremely tight and competitive session. The Portuguese driver, who drives for Carlin Motorsport, put in a strong lap early in the session to go second fastest but returned to the track later and pulled out a 58.994 second lap to be the only driver to lap under 59 seconds, an average speed of just under 113mph.

Mike Conway had a strong and consistent start to the session in his Fortec Motorsport Dallara Opel Spiess but had trouble closing up to the fastest times. He returned to the track after a pitstop and set a 59.054 as part of a strong series of laps to move up to second place.

Charlie Kimball was unable to repeat his pole position in the first session as he ended the second session on third place. He led early in the session with his 59.070 second lap but was unable to get anywhere near it in the remainder of the session and dropped down to third place.

Charlie Hollings scored pole position in the Championship Class after a series of improvements that left him with a 1 minute 00.102 second lap. He was closely followed by championship leader Barton Mawer who finished just five thousandths of a second behind.

Steven Kane and Nick Jones were unable to take part in the session after heavy damage sustained to their cars as a result of crashes during the first qualifying session.
