Barton Looking For a Change in Fortune at the Nurburgring
Australian Barton Mawer is looking forward to bouncing back and reclaiming the National Class Championship lead this weekend in Germany. After the previous round of the British Formula 3 International Series that saw his performance hampered by accidents in two of the three races, Barton is keen to get back in the car and on the podium this weekend.
The series will visit the Nurburgring circuit that was home to the European Formula 1 race earlier this year, adding to the increasing list of Formula 1 tracks Barton has visited this year.
"I am excited at the prospect of racing at another famous, international track. Spa and Monza were both awesome tracks and I am expecting the Nurburgring to be just as thrilling."
Barton and his team, T-Sport, attended a test day at Snetterton last week. The day was unfortunately cut short due to heavy rain after they had only completed 20 laps.
"It was a shame we were not able to make the most of the day, but I am still confident going to the Nurburgring. We will have to make the most of the short practice session on Friday morning before qualifying."
Unlike most rounds, this race weekend will be run on Friday and Saturday, with first qualifying on Friday afternoon and second qualifying and both races to be run on Saturday.
