Jesper Carlsen put himself into top qualifying positions at this weekends round of the British Formula 3 Scholarship Class Championship at Knockhill.

In the first race Jesper had problems with the setup of the car, and his starting position as sixth was the battle point for him during the entire race. He finished seventh after a strong battle for positions.

In race two Jesper started fourth. A position he quickly turned into second where he kept the competitors out of the way during the whole race with constantly fast times.

But two laps before the flag the engine died and Jesper had to retire.

"I have mixed emotions about this weekend. This weekend I raced with a Renalt-Sodemo engine that has given the team some very usefull data. The engine broke down due to an mecanical failure a couple of laps before the end and of course that is really disapointmenting but we showed good pace in the race and that is what is important. I am confident that with what we learned this weeked we can put up a good show at Croft in two weeks time," Jesper Carlsen says.

Next round of the Avon Tyres British Formula Three Championship will be run at Croft at 25/26th of May.
