Carlsen still up front in F3 Scholarship Class.
Essencial Motorsport driver Jesper Carlsen finished fifth in both round 3 and 4 of the British F3 Championship. Carlsen is still among the topdrivers and is now second overall in the Scholarship class championship.
But neither Carlsen or the other drivers could do much against Adam Carroll who dominated both races and took double victory in the two rounds. Carroll now heads the Scholarship Championship, but Carlsen is right behind ready to fight back for the top position at the next round at Silverstone in three weeks.
- There was trouble in qualifying saturday, where a yellow flag period caused me problems. Before the yellow period I was second fastest in my class, but I stopped to save tyres and suddenly I was down in eight position. Someone must have kept on driving qualifying times even though its forbidden during yellow flag periods. At the start of race 1, the driver in front of me stalled the engine in the grid and I could not pass him. I was stuck way behind in the grid, but eventually I finished fifth in my class. Some race weekends just end up this way. I hope this is the first and the last this season, Jesper explains.
Carlsen now looks forward to round 5 and 6 at the Silverstone GP circuit in three weeks.
- I'm convinced that we have af fast car, and that we can find even more speed so I can give my biggest rival Adam Carroll some serious competition for the top positions, Jesper says.
Carroll now leads the Scholarship Championship with 63 points. Jesper Carlsen is second with 43 points and Monegasque driver Clivio Piccione is third with 37 points.
