Podium and points for Jaguar pair at Croft

Jaguar Racing duo James Courtney and Andre Lotterer both secured points finishes, including a podium for James, in today's two Green Flag British Formula Three races at Croft, North Yorkshire.

Race One

James qualified fifth but made a poor start off the line to drop back to seventh. An incident between Takuma Sato and Derek Hayes on the second lap moved James up to fourth, where he held a consistent position pursuing Jamie Spence. As the pair passed the line on the fourteenth lap, he began a successful overtaking move completed over several corners. He then found himself under pressure from Takuma Sato but successfully defended his line until the close of the race.

Andre qualified twelfth and made a good start off the line to move up to tenth. The Sato/Hayes incident also saw him move up a couple of places to eighth and he then set about pursuing Sato. A further incident involving Hayes on the final lap moved him up to seventh to secure four points.

Race Two

James qualified eleventh, unable to find a clear lap during the thirty minutes session. A poor start saw him hold his position but then a combination of Anthony Davidson stalling and Andy Priaulx and Milos Pavlovic also having a first corner incident, moved him up to tenth. Jeffrey Jones going off on the fourth lap moved James to ninth and he was then able to begin pursuing Matt Davies in earnest. A premature close to the race on lap thirteen after Jamie Spence rolled meant that he had to content himself with ninth position and two points towards his Championship campaign.

Andre qualified fifteenth but made a blinding start to be up to eighth by the end of the first lap. Jeffrey Jones dropping back through the order lifted Andre to seventh but the distance between himself and Bruce Jouanny was too significant for Andre's efforts to pay off. He finally had to content himself with seventh and four more points.

Championship Standings

Takuma Sato continues to lead the Championship with 119 points and Derek Hayes Is second with 97 points. Andy Priaulx move up to third with 80 points. Matt Davies has 79 and Gianmaria Bruni 78 points. James has 73 points and Anthony Davidson 55 points. Andre has 52 points.
