Álvaro Parente wins at Castle Combe

The British F3 Championship double race at Castle Combe couldn't of had a more positive result for the young Portuguese driver of Team Portugal, Álvaro Parente. Although his first race didn't go according to plan, attaining a mere 5th position, the second race made up for the latter and young Parente conquered his goal to win. The Portuguese driver started from the 3rd grid position but at once gained the lead and held on to it until the finishing line.

Carlin Motorsport made significant improvements on Alvaro's single seater and the driver was able to rely on his well balanced Dallara Mugen-Honda. Meanwhile, the driver supported by Team Portugal was unable to go beyond the 5th standing during the first leg: "I couldn't improve, the tarmac was especially challenging for my car. I recovered a position and decided not to risk it. I didn't want to put it all at stake, and I knew I had the right conditions to fight for a better result during the afternoon leg, and I was right" started out by commenting the Team Portugal driver pleased with the work developed by the team, and proud of his performance.

Álvaro Parente established as his goal a rostrum finish, but the results proved beyond his expectations. The Porto driver performed an incredible start gaining instantly the lead. "I had a great start and moved to first position. I was careful to avoid mistakes and to gradually distance myself from the pack. It was raining so the probability of mistakes was greater, but the car was in such competitive condition that everything ran according to plan. I took advantage of the safety car's entrance to cool off the tires and then, all I needed was to maintain until the end" added Parente.
