Álvaro Parente is prepared for Castle Combe
The Luís Figo Foundation, Álvaro Parente, and the Carlin Motorsport Team prepared, with a practice session at Pembrey, the sixth stage of the British F3 Championship which will take place next weekend (19/20 June), at the Castle Combe Circuit. These tests had the goal of asserting some solutions for the problems with the Dallara-Mugen Honda's tuning at Snetterton.
"At the last race at Snetterton, during the morning session, I was able to be amongst the three fastest. During the afternoon session, without any setup changes and with a much higher temperature, I would drop to eight or ninth in an inexplicable manner. Therefore, it was important to work hard and find out where the problem was, and I believe that Pembrey made us come to some important conclusions", explained Parente.
Castle Combe will be an unfamiliar track to the young driver of the Luís Figo Foundation, but nonetheless he believes there is a chance to obtain a good result on both races this weekend: "I never loose my confidence, even when the results come short from my expectations, I know that I may be fast at Castle Combe. It is true that the Championship, in terms of points, hasn't gone as well as I would have hoped, nevertheless I was a victim of some setbacks, such as some collisions from my opponents. Otherwise, we have seen so far that I can be fast, and from know on, with half of the championship ahead, I may regain some positions in the final standings", concluded Álvaro Parente.
