British hopes rise for Formula 3 glory.

Britains' hopes for an overall victory in the prestigious British Formula 3 championship have risen following Hinckley resident Robbie Kerrs' results in the first two rounds at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend. Robbie leads the championship after a fine maiden win on Sunday and a strong third place on Easter Monday.

Kerr looked set for a second win of the weekend following a lightening start to take the lead, but unfortunately an accident further down the field caused the race to be red flagged and restarted, with pole sitter, Australian James Courtney, allowed to take the restart firmly in the middle of the track.

The crowd were the treated to a thrilling battle, as Courtney tried everything to make sure that Kerr finished behind him. The final result was Frenchman Bruce Jouanny winning, followed by Courtney and Kerr.

Robbie spent much of the weekend being mobbed by press and crowd alike, bringing to mind the sort of following that Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill used to attract, lets hope that Fans and press alike support this talented youngster in his charge to the top of the motorsport tree.
