This time Jaime Alguersuari (Carlin Motorsport) made no mistakes. He was on pole for the second race of the day and he was determined to win this time. This he did in fine style, despite a Safety Car and an attack of apparent lunacy on the part of Brendon Hartley (Carlin Motorsport) when the New Zealander passed everyone for the lead while the course was under yellows and the Safety Car boards were clearly displayed. He wasn't the only one to pass people under those circumstances, but he was the only one who didn't subsequently drop back to his proper position. Behind Alguersuari the battling Fortec Motorsport Swedes, Marcus Ericsson and Sebastian Hohenthal fought over 2nd and 3rd, the rookie Ericsson getting the better of the more experienced Hohenthal. In the National Class, Andrew Meyrick (Carlin Motorsport) again took victory with another lights-to-flag effort.

At the start of the race, Alguersuari made a clean start, while Ericsson got mugged by Esteban Guerrieri (Ultimate Motorsport) for 2nd. Hohenthal made what might have been a rather precipitate start, while Hartley slotted into 4th just ahead of Hohenthal. Walter Grubm
