May 12, 2003 (Toronto, Ontario): A review of results from yesterday's pair of British Formula 3 Championship races at Knockhill, Scotland, has resulted in Billy Asaro gaining seven places in race two. Originally shown seventeenth in class, the 21-year-old from Unionville, Ontario, has now been awarded tenth-place to go with his eighth-place finish in race one. The error occurred when the timing and scoring system failed to record one of Asaro's laps.
The result could be further revised pending the outcome of an appeal lodged by Asaro's P1 Racing team. Asaro said that two cars passed him while a yellow flag was displayed.
Despite missing the first four races of the season and coming into the 2003 championship with virtually no testing, Asaro has quickly established his presence. In four races, he has scored three top-ten finishes and emerged as the top performer in an Opel-powered car.
Next on the schedule in the 24-race British Formula 3 Championship is the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, May 25-26.
