December 2, 2002 - Davy Cook has formed an alliance with PC World Magazine, the most widely-read computer publication, that aims to generate new advertising customers while also contributing to the development of the young racers career.
Cook, of Tallahassee, Florida, is looking to make it to the pinnacle of open-wheel racing, the CART Champ Car Series, and sees this new relationship as an important way to help him reach his goal. Cook is developing a package for the 2003 season that will see him competing in the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship, which is widely recognized as the final step on the ladder before he can move up to the Champ Car ranks.
"This is a great partnership," explains Cook. "This is just one more weapon in my arsenal to find the funding for my racing. PC World will be featured on my racecar, and they will provide me advertising space to sell to contribute to my racing program."
Cook, who competed in the ultra-competitive Barber Dodge Pro Series last season as the Motorsport.com pilot, proved his skills as a driver by winning and having several podium finishes, will continue to work on his 2003 program by traveling to more trade shows and generating interest in his racing program.
"It makes great sense for both parties to participate in a program like this," Cook continued. "This is what I needed to have the chance at my dream of becoming a CART driver and of course champion. I am hoping this to be the first of several announcements concerning next season for me."
