World of Outlaws Release 2005 Sprint Rules
Norman, OK (October 26, 2004) The World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series released the 2005 edition of the WoO technical rules today. The rules can now be downloaded from a link ("2005 Sprint Rules") located at the bottom of the official WoO Sprint Series web site home page at www.theworldofoutlaws.com.
"We worked with the World of Outlaws teams and with the tracks that run the World of Outlaws Sprint Series," said Martin Willis, VP of Technical Operations. "Our goal is a unified set of rules allowing any team to pull in and be ready to race."
Over the 2004 season, the WoO held meetings with promoters, drivers and race team owners in an effort to release the rules to the racing community before the end of the WoO 2004 season. "This is the earliest the rules have ever been published," said Willis. "We wanted to help the race teams with their plans for 2005."
Releasing the new rules is just one aspect of the sanctioning organization's efforts for improvements in 2005. "We are working on minor changes to the race and format procedures to create a better show," said Craig Cormack, VP of Race Operations. "A new membership structure will be in place to encourage more teams to be a part of the World of Outlaws organization. There are still some details to hammer out, but we will have the entire system in place by January 1, 2005."
