VERNON, NY - The Utica-Rome Speedway will be fully represented at the 15th annual Gater Racing News CarQuest Motorsports Exposition and Trade Show at the Agway Exhibiton Center on the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse on March 9-11.

"We are very excited about the 2001 racing season," said speedway publicist Doug Zupan. "The Motorsports Expo in Syracuse is a great way to kick it all off and give the race fans a sneak preview of what is to come."

A variety of Utica-Rome track officials will be on hand to answer questions throughout the weekend at a special speedway booth, complete with Jason Barney's DIRT 358-Modified and the new F.X. CAPRARA Dodge Official Utica-Rome Speedway Pace Truck. Promotional materials will also be distributed, including color schedule cards, posters, rules, and other important information.

One driver that will have his new machine on display is four-time Small Block Modified track champion Paul Jensen, who will be returning Utica-Rome for the weekly wars for the first time since 1998.

Sportsman drivers with their cars on display will be Billy Shantel Jr., Jessica Zemken, Paul Kinney, and Todd Thomas. The Pure Stocks will be represented with Jeff Pastorella. Slingshot drivers on hand will be 2000 track champion Jackie Botindari and J.J. Courcy. Several other Utica-Rome drivers are also expected to have their machines on hand as well.

Following the Motorsports Expo, the action heads trackside on Sunday May 6, when the 40th anniversary season at Utica-Rome will be kicked off with a special show highlighted by a 40-lap feature for the DIRT 358-Modifieds. Also in action on "Opening Night 2001" will be the DIRT Sportsman, DIRT Pro Stocks, Pure Stocks, and Slingshots.

Anyone requiring specific information on the CarQuest Motorsports Expo 2001, such as displaying a car, can contact Joe Patrick from Gater Racing News at (315) 457-0175.
