Hickory, N.C. - Johnsonville Sausage has reached an agreement with HMS LLC and USAR that will result in their sponsorship of six of the 14 races on the Hooters ProCup Series Southern Division schedule. The Wisconsin based company is currently the primary sponsor for ProCup driver Shane Huffman and XTRA Motorsports, and is the world's leading producer of fine bratwurst.

"Johnsonville is proud to be a part of the USAR Hooters ProCup Series again this year," said Randy Wilhoit, Business Manager (Carolinas) for Johnsonville Sausage. "We have a great partnership with the folks from USAR and look forward to working together with them in growing both awareness and attendance for the Hooters ProCup Series, while sharing the great taste of Johnsonville 'Brats' with racing fans everywhere."

The agreement will feature Johnsonville Bratwurst as the race sponsor, in a presenting capacity, for six USAR events at five racetracks during the 2001 season, beginning with the Jackaroo Sauces 250 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla. on March 31. The remaining four tracks, Peach State Speedway (Jefferson, Ga.), Lonesome Pine Raceway (Coeburn, Va.), Montgomery Motor Speedway (Montgomery, Ala.) and Hickory Motor Speedway (Hickory, N.C.), which will host two events, are all HMS operated facilities where Johnsonville "Brats" will additionally be sold as the "Official Bratwurst" of each track's 2001 racing season.

"HMS is excited to again be such a large part of the USAR Series in 2001," said John Huffman, CEO of HMS LLC, "and we are ecstatic about our involvement with the Johnsonville program. The fans love their product and we are happy to make it a featured part of our concession's menu."
