Tri-Star Racewear of Salisbury, N.C. is the new Official Uniform Supplier of the United States Auto Club. Manufacturers of custom driving suits and crew uniforms for the past 10 years, Tri-Star will produce new-look official uniforms for USAC's working team of officials for the 2002 racing season and is looking forward to its initial venture into the world of open-wheel racing. "I'm extremely excited about our new relationship," said Tri-Star President Ed Cox. "We have wanted to get involved with USAC for a long time and we look forward to servicing the USAC participants with their apparel needs." Starting in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in 1991, the company eventually moved to its current headquarters in North Carolina. "Charlotte and Indianapolis seem to be the hot spots for motorsports in this country," added Mr. Cox. In addition to supplying uniforms, Tri-Star also has agreed to support USAC through contingency programs and as Mr. Cox indicated: "We want to put something back into it for the drivers." The company takes pride in its approach to the industry on a professional basis and USAC is pleased to welcome them to the world of open-wheel racing. "Mr. Cox has a keen interest in our formulas and we anticipate a long and rewarding relationship for both parties," added USAC Director of Sales & Marketing Steve Farmer.
