Kohler Named Presenting Sponsor of SCCA National Championship Runoffs

DUBLIN, Ohio (March 18, 2004) -- TrueSports, Inc., owner and operator of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, announced today that Kohler Company has been named the presenting sponsor of the SCCA National Championship Runoffs® presented by Kohler, beginning with the 2004 event. For the 11th consecutive year, the best amateur road racers in the country will battle on the 2.25-mile, 13-turn road course for the title of National Champion, September 20-26.

The multi-year agreement extends a relationship that Kohler and Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course had previously entered, with Kohler continuing in its role as "Official Plumbing Supplier of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course".

"The decision by Kohler Company to expand its role with us is paramount as we look to continue building the SCCA Runoffs® in the future," said Michelle Trueman Gajoch, President of TrueSports, Inc. "Kohler has played an integral part in the continued renovations of our public facilities at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and this new commitment brings Kohler to the forefront of one of our most important events. A special thank you goes to Ron Pace and the entire staff at Kohler for their dedicated support of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and amateur motorsports."

Kohler has a long history of involvement in motorsports, sponsoring Jeff Miller's Wynnfurst CSR in the Sports Car Club of America. Miller, a six-time national champion, qualified second in last year's Runoffs® and finished seventh in the hunt for the national championship.

"Kohler Company is honored to become a part of the SCCA National Championship Runoffs® and expand our relationship with Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course," said Ron Pace, President of Plumbing America's at Kohler Company. "The Runoffs® participants are known throughout motorsports for hard work and a commitment to excellence in racing, and the same hard work and commitment to excellence goes into Kohler's family of products. This sponsorship truly is a great fit."

The SCCA National Championship Runoffs® presented by Kohler crowns national champions in 24 Sports Car Club of America classes each September. The weeklong event annually showcases over 700 of the best amateur road racing competitors in the United States, along with hundreds more volunteers to serve as marshals, corner workers, meet officials, timers, scorers, and more. Many of road racing's biggest names have captured national championships prior to beginning their pro careers, including Bobby Rahal, Jimmy Vasser, Roger Penske and Elliot Forbes-Robinson.

"Kohler has had a long history with SCCA Club Racing, supporting not only racers individually, but with event sponsorship, like its ongoing relationship with the June Sprints®," said Steve Johnson, SCCA President and CEO. "Last year's SCCA National Championship Runoffs® was our biggest and best ever, and we know that Kohler will be a great partner to Mid-Ohio and all the participants and fans of the SCCA Runoffs®.

"It's great to see Kohler increasing its involvement with SCCA and we look forward to partnering with them for many years."
