FORT WASHINGTON, PA December 24, 2000 . . . Autograph collectors take note, NASCAR Winston Cup racers Jimmy Spencer and Geoffrey Bodine will head up an impressive list of racing talents at the Pennzoil Motorsports 2001 Auto Racing Show. The three day motorsports extravaganza, the 16th edition, takes place at the huge Fort Washington, PA Expo Center. Doors open at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 12 and the show continues until 6 p.m. Sunday, January 14. More than 40,000 people are expected to visit the show, which will offer something for every motorsports fan, during the three days. Spencer and Bodine, both graduates of NASCAR Featherlite Modified racing, will be visiting the show along with many of the top asphalt modified racers of the 20th century. Special photo cards have been created and will be available only at the Pennzoil Motorsports 2001 show during two autograph sessions featuring at least half of the 25 top modified racing greats selected by a number of Area Auto Racing News journalists who cover the sport on a regular basis. The driver who is number one on the list, Richie Evans, a nine time NASCAR Modified champion, was fatally injured in an accident at Martinsville, VA Speedway in 1985. The number two driver in the listing is NASCAR Modified great "Bugsy" Stevens. He will be part of the two autograph sessions at the show.

Spencer (winner at Daytona and Talladega) and Bodine (a Daytona 500 winner) will be just two of the NASCAR Winston Cup talents making appearances at the show. Steve Park and Jerry Nadeau had been announced as appearing at the show earlier. And there are other drivers and personalities expected to be added to the all star lineup that annually make appearances at Pennzoil Motorsports.
The three day show features more than 600 exhibit booths featuring "everything motorsports" for fans and racers. The HARDCORE RACER section is of particular interest to racers. More than 150 vehicles, from all segments of the sport, will be featured throughout the 275,000 square foot show.
