DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (November 19, 2002) -- Grand American Road Racing Association has posted its 2003 rulebook for the Grand-Am Cup Series on its website at www.grandamerican.com/grandamcup/Rules_2003.html.

Like the rest of the Grand American rulebook, the format of the regulations has been changed, but very little of the actual content. With close championship battles in all four Grand-Am Cup classes during the 2002 season, there are few changes in the new regulations.

"The biggest thing teams will see is that we've integrated the Grand-Am Cup rules with the rest of the rulebook," Director of Competition Mark Raffauf said. "This past year the Grand-Am Cup rules were pretty much self-contained. Now the common regulations are in the General Automobile and Sporting Regulations with the Grand-Am Cup specific regulations in that section."

"The competition was great this season, so there was very little that needed changing," added Technical Director Scott Spencer. "We have made some minor adjustments to weight, fuel capacity and the like for specific cars, but nothing drastic. Our teams can be confident that we're keeping their needs in mind and staying away from unnecessary changes that only drive up budgets."

The Grand-Am Cup Series will have an 11-race season for 2003. The schedule and other news on the Grand-Am Cup Series is available online at www.grandamerican.com.
