Skip Barber Inc. and longtime partner Sachs North America have decided to renew their contract and maintain their alliance in motorsports. Sachs, a division of Mannesmann, is responsible for the sales, marketing, and distribution of Sachs, Borg & Beck, Boge, Stabilus, and Mintex branded products to the automotive aftermarket in the United States and Canada. For the last four years, the company has provided the Barber Dodge Pro Series with a world-class racing clutch designed to support the demands of the Dodge 3.5-liter engine and Hewland 6-speed sequential gearbox. The Barber Dodge Pro Series set new attendance records for 2000, as it was seen by over 1.35-million fans at 12 North American race events.

"We greatly value and appreciate Sachs renewal of their partnership with the Barber Dodge Pro Series for 2001." said an excited Andy Sisulak, Marketing Services Manager of the Barber Dodge Pro Series. He continued, "Sach's clutches and engineering support play a vital role in the successful on-track performance of the Reynard Dodge race cars. We look forward to many more years with them."

The Sachs sponsored Reynard Dodge 98E appeared at two prominent trade shows this year. The widely-recognized race car first appeared at SEMA [Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association] in Las Vegas at which Pro Series racers Andy Lally and rookie of the year Ryan Hunter-Reay signed autographs and posed for photographs. The black and silver car then made its way to Indianapolis for the PRI [Performance Racing Industry] trade show where Pro Series driver Rhonda Trammell put her signature to posters, bulletins and caps.
