Human Performance International (HPI) a North Carolina based firm that specializes in physical fitness diagnostics as well as mental preparation techniques has linked with Skip Barber, Inc to promote its newest product, The MindSHAPER™. The CD-ROM program is designed to develop and heighten an individual's powers of concentration. The program is being promoted on www.skipbarber.com, and as part of the promotion HPI will donate $25 to Racing For Kids for every program sold.

"All Skip Barber programs address the physical aspects of driving a race or road car and we enlighten people as to the mental acuity required to perform what we teach. MindSHAPER™ is an ideal product to pick up where Skip Barber programs leave off on the mental training side," according to Brett Roubinek, Managing Director of Instruction for Skip Barber.

The MindSHAPER™ a PC-based Windows software program, is designed to test and train your concentration skills. Playing the MindSHAPER™ game can help any individual, including children, to develop their ability to focus, while providing hours of fun. This can carry over to improved job performance (or grades) and to the development of an important life-skill. The game, which includes eleven levels of difficulty and has been adapted from a test used by HPI to evaluate the concentration skills of high-performance competitors from a variety of sports and high-risk/high demand professions, as well as nearly 450 racers including champions from NASCAR, Formula 1, IndyCars, and the world of Sports Cars.

"Since 1995, HPI has enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with the Skip Barber organization during its annual Barber-CART Big Scholarship Runoff," stated Dr. Jacques Dallaire, President of Human Performance International. "As part of an on-going collaboration that blends a shared interest in the education and training of young racers, our specialists typically kick off this three-day event with a half-day seminar for runoff participants. The topics discussed center around the physical and mental preparation of the high performance racer, and much of the material presented within the seminar is directly relevant to their driving performance during the runoff competition. This year, we introduced our new MindSHAPER™ concentration training software to the group."

"Given the positive response to the program the Skip Barber organization decided to help us get the word out about the MindSHAPER™ program. We are very fortunate to enjoy the support of the largest and most prestigious driver training program in the world," added Dallaire

"The HPI programs I have been involved in over the years have helped me to climb to the Champ Car level and to develop my skills so that I could be in a position to win races! While undergoing evaluation at HPI, I have been a 'victim' of the test on which the MindSHAPER(tm) software is based and I KNOW that this program can help racers and other athletes develop their concentration skills." Helio Castroneves, driver of the CART FedEx Series #3 Team Penske machine and Skip Barber program participant.

HPI has an extensive portfolio of experience and expertise working with competitors from the world of motorsport and from many other high-performance sports. HPI also services, through its innovative and comprehensive programs, the health and performance enhancement needs of individual executives, sales personnel, and management teams. Additionally, HPI will work with individuals who are involved in high-risk/high-demand occupational professions (e.g. fire fighting, aviation, law enforcement, material handling)

Racing for Kids is the Official Charity of the Barber Dodge Pro Series. The not for profit organization seeks to raise the awareness of children's healthcare issues. Learn more at www.racingforkids.org. HPI can be reached on the web at www.human-performance.com.
