Toyota South Africa will be the official vehicle supplier for the Carnival City 400 off road race on November 16 and 17.

Toyota's impressive promotions truck and trailer, imported from the United States, will also serve as the race headquarters and media centre for the Carnival City 400. On top of that, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Land Cruiser 4x4 model range, there will be what promises to be an interesting display of Toyota Land Cruiser models.

The Carnival City 400 will be the final race in this year's MSA Off-road Car Championship, with a number of title issues likely to go all the way to the wire. Toyota will supply the organisers, the MSA Off-Road Car Commission with assistance from the Koepel Club, with five 4x4 vehicles before and during the event.

"The vehicles will be used for route surveys and other purposes during the planning stages and during the event," said clerk of the course Peter Mounsear-Wilson. "One vehicle will also be used by a television crew.

"Toyota's gesture has eased a potentially heavy financial outlay by the MSA Off-Road Car Commission, and has made it a lot easier to organise the event."

The route will be a multi-lap course between the Carnival City casino complex near Brakpan and Heidelberg. Apart from providing competitors with a stiff challenge, the route will also be spectator friendly.

A full programme of events at the Carnival City 400 will include an Off-Road Expo, with all the signs pointing to a bumper climax to the season.
