Hesketh resigns from board of BRDC

In a surprise move, Lord Hesketh has resigned from the board of the BRDC - the club that owns Silverstone.

"Sadly, I cannot agree with the part of the proposed restructure which precludes share ownership to Members. I believe it is not in the interests of the Club to have a disunited Board and I have no intention of being such an impediment. Thus, painful as it is, I consider the honourable course of action is to resign my position as President."

Rumours intensify on Pollock's future

According to press reports, Jerry Forsythe and the other directors of British American Racing have held a meeting today to discuss Craig Pollock's future. FIA introduces cost barrier to new entrants

The FIA has approved a new financial barrier to new teams wanting to enter F1.

New teams that enter will be required to deposit $48m with the FIA, which will be repaid to them over the course of the year. If a team fails to appear it will lose the whole of the deposit, less $12m.
