Nissan Motor Spain signs a new three-year sponsorship agreement with RPM Racing (2002-2004).

Nissan Motor Spain will sponsor the Open Telefónica by Nissan 2002. The Dallara SN01 single seaters will be equipped with the Nissan MaximaV6 engine, offering a power of 410 hp.

Barcelona, 22 November 2001 - Daniel J. Young, president of Nissan Motor Spain, and Jaime Alguersuari, president de RPM Racing, have signed a new sponsorship agreement for the new single seater series starting in 2002. This agreement will be valid for three years.

The signning took place at the Nissan Motor Spain main offices located in Barcelona, as it is shown in the attached picture.

The participation and support of Nissan Motor Spain, and specially from his President, Daniel J. Young, has been capital in the success of the Open Telefónica Series, and extensively, in the racing careers of the Formula One drivers Marc Gené and Fernando Alonso.

The new SN01 single seater design and constructed by Dallara will be fitted with the Nissan Maxima V6 engine, offering a power of 410 hp.

The Open Telefónica 2002 Series new category will have 5 meetings in Spain, one in France, one in Italy and two in South America, (Argentina and Brazil).
