DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 25, 2000) The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing and Cintas, the recognized leader in the uniform industry, have extended their marketing partnership through 2002. Cintas will continue to be NASCAR's preferred uniform supplier in addition to adding new marketing and promotional initiatives to support its involvement.
Cintas will continue to outfit officials in 12 of NASCAR's 13 series of competition with race-day uniforms and workday apparel. Cintas is also working with employees at NASCAR Café restaurants, NASCAR Thunder retail stores, NASCAR SpeedParks and NASCAR Silicon Motor Speedway locations on providing them with uniforms. In addition, Cintas will feature products in two annual catalog mailings to customers.
Cintas plans to support its partnership with a national sweepstakes promotion in NASCAR 2000, which will be activated through a variety of channels including direct mail, catalog orders and e-commerce.
"For years we have had a positive relationship with NASCAR and our decision to become their preferred uniform supplier last year was a logical next step," said Bill Goetz, Cintas vice president of marketing and merchandising. "NASCAR provides an excellent way to communicate with the people who use our uniforms. It sends a powerful message of professionalism and competence to team members, customers and competitors. NASCAR officials are a great team to be associated with."
Over the last four years, Cintas has partnered with NASCAR in a number of different capacities. Cintas was the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series official uniform supplier from 1996 - 1998 and was the title sponsor of the Cintas NCTS Rookie of the Year program until 1998.
In 1999, Cintas signed a one-year partnership to become NASCAR's preferred uniform supplier.
"For the last four years Cintas has been a valuable partner of NASCAR at many different levels," said George Pyne, NASCAR vice president of marketing. "We are delighted to extend our relationship and continue using Cintas as our preferred uniform supplier."
Cintas is currently an associate sponsor on the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 Home Depot Pontiacs driven by Bobby Labonte, a relationship that dates to 1997.
Cintas has over 200 uniform rental locations in the U.S. and Canada, including six distribution centers and 13 manufacturing plants. Each day over four million people at businesses of all sizes and types trust Cintas for their uniforms and work accessories.
In addition to uniform sales and corporate identity apparel, Cintas offers businesses dust control and hygiene services, as well as first aid and safety products and services.
