Troy Moncrief Selected For Speedway Children's Charities Board

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (August 10, 2004) -- Troy Moncrief has been selected as the newest member of the Board of Trustees for Speedway Children's Charities, Texas Chapter. Speedway Children's Charities distributes funds to children's organizations in Tarrant, Dallas, Denton and Collin counties.

Moncrief is Vice President of Commercial Marketing at Blue Star Title in Fort Worth. He is the son of Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief and his wife Rosie.

Moncrief has served as the vice president of the Fort Worth Sportsmen's Club and has also been actively involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Camp Fire USA, CAST for Kids and the Alliance for Children. Moncrief and his wife Julie reside in Aledo with their two children.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve with Speedway Children's Charities in assisting children's organizations in this area," said Moncrief. "Texas Motor Speedway and Speedway Children's Charities have accomplished so much to aid needy children in North Texas. It is an honor to help with this effort in the future."

Bruton Smith, CEO of Speedway Motorsports, Inc., founded Speedway Children's Charities in 1984 to help children in the counties surrounding each of the company's facilities. The charity is a non-profit foundation that distributes funds to qualified children's charities.

Speedway Children's Charities, Texas Chapter, granted nearly $430,000 to 153 different children's charities around Texas Motor Speedway in 2003. Since 1997, the local chapter has raised over $2.3 million for children's organizations.
