FORT WORTH-DALLAS (June 22, 2000) - Larry Rodgers has been named general manager of The Speedway Club by Texas Motor Speedway General Manager Eddie Gossage. "Larry is the most qualified person for this position," Gossage said. "He has the experience, training and communication skills to accommodate the members and develop The Speedway Club into an even more successful establishment." As general manager, Rodgers oversees 147 employees and works to accommodate thousands of Speedway Club members. Rodgers, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, has been in the business of hospitality for 15 years. He joined Texas Motor Speedway in June 2000. Prior to that, he received his training from the Heritage and Plaza Club in Houston. He also managed the Tower Club in Dallas and the Stone Briar Club in Frisco, Texas. In 1996, Rodgers left the hospitality industry to run a private school in Plano, Texas. But he decided to return to managing private clubs by accepting the job with Onion Creek Club, in Austin, the birthplace of the Senior Tour and home of the LPGA Harvey Penick Phillips Invitational. Rodgers will oversee all club facilities including meeting and banquet space, the health club and restaurant, and is responsible for accommodating current members, attracting new members as well as employee satisfaction. He wants to build a team within The Speedway Club that will meet member's needs in a timely fashion. He also plans to continue to build the credibility of the club. Rodgers is married with a daughter.
