Monsam to Bring Experience and Expertise to Aventis Behring Choice Team
[OKLAHOMA CITY, OK] On Saturday morning L&R Motorsports announced the signing of John Monsam as Crew Chief for Lance Norick's #90 Aventis Behring Choice NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team for the remainder of the 2001 Season.
Monsam, a veteran crew chief will start his full-time position with L&R Motorsports on Monday June 25, 2001. He has been consulting with the team since this May's Pike's Peak race and made the decision to stay throughout the rest of the season. This Granby, Connecticut native holds degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice. He has worked as a crew chief since 1993.
Lance Norick: "John and I get along very well. More importantly, we communicate well. That's brought something new to our team. He has streamlined the crew's efforts and their energy level has really been up. I am looking forward to running the rest of this year with him."
John Monsam: "One of the most important factors in my decision was being able to make a difference-to make an impact and help bring positive results. All the elements for a top team were already there."
Team Manager, Gus Primm: "We're excited. We've had a good team all year long, but the one lacking element was experience. In the short period Monsam has been with us (four races), the communication between driver and crew chief has really grown."
Team Owner, Ron Norick: "Our mission has been to strengthen our team. We are pleased with the progress we have made with John Monsam consulting. He brings with him a new level of experience and that translates into a new level of quality for the team. Through this, we hope to increase the depth of our talents for our sponsor Aventis Behring."
