Watkins Glen, NY (June 22, 2001) - Watkins Glen International President, Bryan R. Sperber, announced that Kendall Motor Oil has renewed its marketing partnership as the Official Motor Oil of the historic road course.

"From Kendall's earliest involvement with Watkins Glen, when races were run through the village streets 1948-1951, to our current status as the official motor oil of WGI, we have enjoyed nothing but success in everything we've done at The Glen," stated Susan Tate, General Sales Manager for Kendall Motor Oil.

Kendall has had an association with racing at The Glen dating back to 1957, just nine years after road racing began there. The company has participated in several activities, such as the track's 50th Anniversary celebration and has sponsored Pole Qualifying Day as part of the Winston Cup event weekend with the "Throw the Green at The Glen" promotional sweepstakes in which 10 people were chosen to be honorary starters for the Pole Qualifying day since 1998.

"We are delighted that Kendall will be continuing its marketing partnership with Watkins Glen," said Sperber. "Having a world class brand and company like Kendall involved with The Glen for so many years speaks favorably about the enduring marketing value of an association with auto racing and our facility."

The Glen presents an unsurpassed NASCAR weekend July 6-8. The Festival of Speed & Sound promises to be a weekend packed with racing action as the ARCA RE/MAX Series takes to the historic road course in its inaugural race at The Glen on Saturday, followed by a concert by Blessid Union of Souls and a Winston Cup Pepsi 400 viewing party on the jumbotrons live from Daytona International Speedway. The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series takes center stage on Sunday as the highlight of the weekend's activities, complemented by a historic stock car race in the morning.

Tickets for the 2001 season, including the Festival of Speed & Sound weekend July 6-8 at The Glen, are now available. For tickets, reserved camping and additional information please contact the Watkins Glen ticket office at 607-535-2481 or log on to the official Watkins Glen Web site at www.theglen.com.
