FORT WASHINGTON, PA JANUARY 12, 2000 . . . A.J. Foyt will not be at Pennzoil Motorsports 2000. He was forced to cancel the other day. However Jeff Ward, driver of A.J. Foyt's Harrah's Hotels/Casino Indy Racing League entry will be there. Ward, one of the all time greats of motorcross competition, had an impressive season on the Indy Racing League circuit last year. The talented newcomer to open cockpit racing was in the thick of the battle for the IRL championship for much of the season. With his move to the Foyt stable, Ward figures he can win a title. He will be talking about his plans for 2000 at the Pennzoil Motorsports 2000 Auto Racing Trade Show at the Fort Washington, PA Expo Center this weekend. The show, expected to attract somewhere in the area of 50,000 motorsports fans, will open at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 14 and run through 6 p.m., Sunday, January 16. Bryan Wall, a standout on the NASCAR Busch North circuit, has also been added to the list of well known names in the sport that will be appearing at the show. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Geoffrey Bodine, Michael Waltrip, Steve Park, Chad Little, Ernie Irvan, Davey Hamilton, Jaret Schroeder and a host of others will be in attendance to meet fans. And those who are fans of yesteryear will get a great deal of enjoyment as they meet many of the oldtimers of motorsports including former Indy 500 racer Mike Magill. More than 150 different motorsports vehicles will be on display and there will be more than 500 display booths offering everything motorsports. Seminars of interest to just about every racer will continue throughout the weekend and there will be live hands- on demonstrations at the MotorMax Extreme Motorsports Garage area. In addition the popular U.S. Tobacco/Ms Motorsports Pageant will take place on Saturday afternoon and evening. On Sunday the kids will be in the limelight with the Big Wheel racing action and the Li'l Miss Motorsports contest. One area that fans will not want to miss is the Pennzoil Motorsports area, increased in size from last year, which will include many of their sponsored vehicles and racers. It is a must see. Admission to the show is $10.00 for adults. A three day ticket may be had for $25.00. Children 6 thru 12 pay just $3.00 and under 6, when accompanied by an adult, the price is free.
