Irwindale GM To Be a Panelist in Prestigious Performance Racing Industry Roundtable at Indy - Wednesday, Dec 8, 2004
Irwindale, Calif.- - Irwindale Speedway General Manager / Chief Operating Officer Bob DeFazio was recently tabbed to take part as a panelist the PRI Show's prestigious "Racing Industry Roundtable" at the Performance Racing Industry's Trade Show that takes place in December in Indianapolis.
This seventieth annual event brings together every aspect of the racing industry and consistently fills the Indiana Convention Center to the gunnels with everyone who has a stake in the business.
One of the annual highlights of the three-day convocation is the Industry Roundtable which always "sells out" the hall. Panelists are invited from every facet of the racing business and always represent the highest industry standards. The Roundtable will take place at 1:30PM in the Indiana Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in downtown Indiana on Wednesday, December 8.
"I'm honored to have been asked to be a part of such an important panel of true experts in the field," said DeFazio. "The people who I've heard about so far who've been invited are all heavy duty in their fields, I'm really looking forward to the show. I plan on doing a lot of listening and maybe even ask a few questions of my own. The PRI Show is always one of our most looked forward to events by all of us at Irwindale."
Nextel Cup Series Director John Darby, Indy 500 winner Eddie Cheever, veteran racing broadcaster Bill Weber, Bruno Engelric of Del West Europe, and NHRA vice president of marketing Gary Darcy are only some of the panelists who have been named for the this year's convocation.
Some of the past "Roundtable" participants have included: Vic Edelbrock Jr., Jeff Hammond, Steve Kinser, Shav Glick, Bob East, Johnny Caples, Terry Cook, Don Garlits, Leo Mehl, Doctor Dick Berggren, Ken Squire, Jeff Hammond, Jim Dowing, and Randy LaJoie.
Irwindale Speedway is just closing out its sixth season of exciting short track racing. Still on the card for November at the raceway are two national events, The NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown and the 64th Running of the Thanksgiving Night Grand Prix for USAC Midget Cars. A year-round facility, Irwindale will be hosting what will most certainly be a hotly-contested D-1 Drift Championship Driver Search event on Saturday, December 11.
