Richmond International Raceway Welcomes New Public Relations Manager

RICHMOND, VA (August 4, 2004) - Aimee Wester has been named to the new position of Manager of Public Relations, announced Doug Fritz, president of Richmond International Raceway.

Wester, a native of the Richmond area with over five years of motorsports public relations experience, will help coordinate the public relations efforts for Richmond International Raceway. She will generate press releases, coordinate media events and act as a liaison between Richmond International Raceway and the media, drivers, race teams and track sponsors.

"We are pleased to have Aimee join our staff," Fritz said. "Her motorsports experience and media background will be very valuable to our public relations team."

Wester is making the move from Charlotte, North Carolina, where she most recently worked within the NASCAR community as the Program Manager for Yellow Transportation, a NASCAR Busch Series sponsor. She has overseen the public relations for many well-known NASCAR drivers and sponsors including Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, Jason Keller, Excedrin, Channellock, and Albertson's. Wester also has an extensive television background, working as an assignment desk editor and assistant producer for WTVR News 6 in Richmond.

"I am very excited to join the Richmond International Raceway public relations team, " stated Wester. "Being from the Richmond area, this is a dream that I have had since I was very young. I am looking forward to working for such a great organization and helping promote the events at Richmond International Raceway."

Wester, who started her new job August 3, will report to Keith Green, Director of Public Relations. She is joining a staff that already includes Community Affairs and Publicity Manager, Leigh Herring.

Wester, a 1998 graduate of Radford University, currently resides in Richmond.
