INDIANAPOLIS, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2002 - The Indy Racing League recently relocated Kimberly Miller, its manager of media relations, to Charlotte, N.C., to strengthen the league's relationships with the national motorsports media.

Numerous national trade media are located in the Charlotte area, including ESPN2's "RPM2Night," National Speed Sport News, Circle Track magazine, Sports Business Journal, Speed Channel, and motorsports writers for outlets such as ESPN's SportsTicker and the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch. Syndicated motorsports columnists and a top nationally syndicated radio show also are based in Charlotte.

In addition to servicing the media's needs for the Indy Racing League, Miller will represent the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Brickyard 400 NASCAR Winston Cup event at the many stock-car functions that take place in and around Charlotte, such as the annual Lowe's Motor Speedway Media Tour.

"An opportunity presented itself to position Kimberly in Charlotte, and we took advantage of it," said Ron Green, director of media relations for the Indy Racing League. "We always have wanted to do more in Charlotte with its high concentration of motorsports media, and now we can. With our staff's travel schedule and by taking advantage of today's technologies, the IRL Media Relations department will continue to work efficiently with a staff member based in Charlotte."
