Racing Champions to Appear at Bridgestone/Firestone SEMA*ITE Exhibit
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 27, 2001) - A trio of racing champions will make guest appearances next week at the Bridgestone/Firestone exhibit in the Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association/International Tire Exhibition in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The drivers include 1978 World Driver's champion and 1969 Indy 500 winner Mario Andretti; 1991 Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) champion Michael Andretti; and 2001 Indy Racing League (IRL) champion Sam Hornish Jr. The times of their appearances at the Bridgestone/Firestone exhibit are:
Michael Andretti: Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2 - 4 p.m.
Mario Andretti: Wednesday, Oct. 31, noon - 2 p.m.
Sam Hornish Jr.: Thursday, Nov. 1, 10 a.m. - noon, 2 - 4 p.m.
"The SEMA*ITE show attracts people who are passionate about cars and trucks, and who love all things automotive," said Phil Pacsi, Director of Bridgestone/Firestone's Consumer Tires Brand/Retail Marketing. "Having Sam, Michael and Mario in our booth will reinforce our winning involvement with motorsports, and emphasize the strength of our technologies. They've all won on our tires, and are eager to talk about their confidence and satisfaction with our products."
SEMA*ITE organizers say more than 82,000 are expected to visit the nation's largest automotive accessories show from Oct. 30 through Nov. 2, touring more than 11 miles of exhibit aisles. Bridgestone/Firestone has been at SEMA*ITE shows for more than a decade, showcasing a range of tires for various automotive applications.
The Bridgestone/Firestone exhibit is one of the larger displays at this year's SEMA*ITE show, covering nearly 6,000 square feet and including a display of racecars, race driving simulators, and numerous Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton and associate brand tires.
"SEMA*ITE shows always feature the latest developments and products, giving car lovers a diversity of ways to tailor their vehicles to their wants and needs," Pacsi said. "And while many of the products are performance-oriented, you also find new offerings intended to make vehicles more stylish, more comfortable or more convenient. Tires have long been a way to affect the appearance and performance of vehicles, so it's a natural for us to be at this show. Our staff working the exhibit will talk to a variety of guests, ranging from small tuner/modifier businesses to major automotive and tire dealers working with hundreds or thousands of car owners a year. We're excited about the show, and how it helps us reach new customers."
