TORONTO, ON - Inside Track Motorsport News, the 'Official Publication of Canadian Motorsport', announces, effective immediately, that it is no longer the 'official motorsport publication of CASCAR'. Following discussions with CASCAR, the publishers of Inside Track determined that it was neither in the best interest of Inside Track - or that of CASCAR - to continue with the 'official motorsport publication of CASCAR' designation. "Our dedication to covering CASCAR in an unequalled manner is 100 per cent unchanged. CASCAR is Canada's biggest and most important motorsports sanctioning body and for 2001, we commit to raise the bar, once again, on the level of our CASCAR coverage," said Inside Track's Managing Editor, David Weber. "But having Inside Track as CASCAR's 'official motorsport publication' created a few unnecessary conflicts for both sides. This move is meant to remove those impediments from the equation so that Inside Track can continue to produce the best Canadian racing magazine, and CASCAR can grow its reputation as Canada's top sanctioning body." "After discussing the situation with our friends at Inside Track, we mutually agreed that it was counterproductive to designate any publication as being the 'official motorsport publication of CASCAR'. For the immediate and foreseeable future, CASCAR will not be entering into such a relationship with any motorsports publication," said CASCAR President Bill Darmon. "We were very happy with the coverage CASCAR received in Inside Track and the work they did for us on the communications front. At this point in time, we are committed to working closely with Inside Track, in the future, to grow CASCAR to its fullest potential." Last year, Inside Track Communications - the company that publishes Inside Track Motorsport News - produced the 2000 CASCAR Castrol Super Series Yearbook, as well as the CASCAR Castrol Super Series Media Guide. Additionally, Inside Track Communications wrote and distributed all of the pre and post-race stories and results from every Eastern, Western and National Castrol Super Series event. Inside Track Motorsport News - Canada's best and most frequently published motorsport magazine - produced several special CASCAR supplement inserts during 2000.
