IHRA Expands Business Development and Operations Departments
IHRA President Aaron Polburn has announced the expansion of IHRA's business development and operations departments. Matthias Czabok has been hired as Vice President of Business Development and Sharon Ramlow as Operations Coordinator.
Czabok comes to IHRA with an extensive motorsports marketing and business development background. In 1992, Czabok founded his own sports marketing agency, Movement Arts, which acted as a consultant to European CART teams before becoming co-owner of Blair Racing, which competed in CART and IRL. Czabok also developed successful sponsorship programs with NASCAR and ASA.
Czabok hails from Nuernburg, Germany, and his career in racing is not limited to the business and marketing end. He has raced competitively since 1987, starting with Gran Prix motorcycles and moving into open wheel racing. In 2004, he has focused his energies driving on the ASA circuit.
"I am ecstatic to come aboard IHRA, especially now when it seems the company is at its most focused and ready to grow," Czabok stated. "I look forward to applying my knowledge of motorsports to this new challenge. I think my background is an excellent fit for this job."
Among Czabok's responsibilities are increasing revenue through new and existing partnerships and to improving current promotional and marketing concepts.
Ramlow joins IHRA following five years as Operations Director for IHRA Pro Modified driver Harold Martin and Martin Technologies. Ramlow began her motorsports career as a consultant to Martin and his racing team. "Harold taught me a lot about drag racing and the industry," Ramlow stated. "It was a great starting point, and I'm ready to use my skills to help IHRA grow."
Ramlow will oversee ticket operations, banquet coordination, staffing at events, and the management of most on-site activities at IHRA national events.
"IHRA is taking a major step in growing this company," said IHRA President Aaron Polburn. "These new team members fit in perfectly with the strong foundation we have, and our desire to move on to bigger and better things. Mattias Czabok comes to IHRA with a history of adding to the bottom line of any racing operation he has worked with. IHRA is looking to expand its business and sponsor relationships, and Matthias is the perfect man to lead that charge."
"Sharon Ramlow has worked with one of the most professional and successful teams in IHRA. Her knowledge and skill at organizing and coordinating events at this level is an incredible asset to us. With our reach and goals expanding, we need someone at the events who has the know-how and the ability to make sure they go smoothly."
Both will be based at IHRA World Headquarters in Norwalk, OH
