ISC Limited, the exclusive worldwide media and commercial rights holder for the WRC, has appointed Generate to implement a global PR and communications programme.
Generate, who were selected after a competitive pitch, will work alongside ISC, local promoters, teams, sponsors and the FIA to substantially raise the profile of WRC and its positioning as an epic motorsport adventure bringing you the world's greatest drivers'.
The World Rally Championship is enjoyed by millions of fans around the world who follow the spectacular action of the 12 round Championship either live on Event or via the thousands of hours of TV and internet content beamed throughout the year into over 200 countries and on 132 separate TV stations.
Commenting on the announcement, Simon Long, ISC CEO, said: "The appointment of Generate as the Championship's first dedicated PR agency marks a major breakthrough in our aim to position WRC centre stage on the global radar of leading sports properties. The opportunity to represent the PR profile of WRC attracted huge interest from leading players in the industry. Generate impressed us greatly with their track record of working with world-beating brands, their innovative thinking and galvanising vision for a multi-dimensional WRC of the future."
Jonathan Neill, PR Director at Generate, said: "With its richly diverse offering of spectacular locations, extraordinary cultural backdrops, leading edge technology and the world's greatest drivers, WRC and its authentic spirit of adventure can appeal as much to the established motorsport fan as to the new experiential consumer.
"WRC has a wealth of data and content which offers a unique opportunity to package and communicate WRC as one of the world's most exciting and genuinely cross platform, multi genre media properties.
"We look forward to working closely with the WRC's stakeholders, commercial and media partners not to mention its burgeoning army of fans to reinforce WRC's credentials both as the people's motorsport and a property which truly stands out from the crowd."
