Chantilly, VA (Nov. 17, 2000) - NASCAR drivers Kevin and Wayne Grubb are the latest additions to the list of drivers making personal appearances at the Washington, D.C. Motorsports Expo to be held December 8th through the 10th at the Capital Expo Center in Chantilly, VA.

The Grubbs, from Mechanicsville, VA, will join NASCAR Winston Cup driver Robert Pressley signing autographs and greeting their fans at the show on Sunday afternoon. All autograph sessions are free to show attendees.

Dave Blaney and Indy 500 veteran Mark Dismore will appear on Friday evening. On Saturday afternoon, two-time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin will be joined by the twenty year old Indy 500 rookie sensation Sarah Fisher, NASCAR Craftsman Truck driver Randy Tolsma and Trans Am Series racer Jeff Altenburg.

Altenburg was recently awarded the 2000 Red Line Oil Rookie of the Year Award in the Trans Am Series after placing third overall in the drivers championship. Altenburg scored four podium finishes in his rookie season including a third place finish at the season opening race at Sebring in March.

The Washington, D.C. Motorsports Expo opens its three-day run at the 107,000 square foot Capitol Expo Center at 12:00 noon on Friday December 8th with a very special attraction for show attendees. From 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., the Virginia Giant Monster Truck will give free rides with paid admission. Monster truck rides in the Virginia Giant will be available all three days of the show from noon to 5:00 p.m.

The car crushing Virginia Giant Monster Truck racer, which races in Monster Truck Racing Association competition, will be on display inside the Capital Expo Center, while the ride truck delights children of all ages with a special ride in the parking area behind the expo center.

The Virginia Giant ride truck, which features the same body style and paint scheme as the racer, is actually the team's phase one racer, specially fitted with twelve seats.

While the monster truck exhibit and ride is sure to delight the youngsters, racing machinery from all forms of motorsport will grace the floor of the Capital Expo Center. Over 50 internationally known race cars will be at the show including a West Mclaren Formula One car, the Pennzoil Indy car, Cory Mac's MBNA top fuel dragster, two of Dale Earnhardt's Chevrolet Monte Carlos, Jeff Gordon's No. 24, and Ricky Rudd's No. 28 to name just a few.

In addition to all the attractions for the fans, a manufacturers midway will feature all the latest performance products for road and track. Manufacturers will feature racing related products from safety equipment to fully enclosed racing transporters.

All the latest racing collectibles will be available too. The collectible area will feature vendors with motorsport clothing, die-cast race cars, stickers, posters, calendars, everything imaginable for the race fan just in time for the holiday season.
