FRAM renews as official filter of NHRA

GLENDORA, Calif. (Nov. 27, 2001) - FRAM* automotive filters, which are manufactured and distributed by Honeywell Consumer Products Group, has extended their partnership with the National Hot Rod Association as the Official Filter of NHRA, Bob Wagner, vice president of sales and business development, announced today.

As the Official Filter of NHRA, the FRAM brand receives increased visibility at all NHRA Drag Racing Series events. As a part of the agreement, FRAM will launch a redesign of its familiar orange packaging to include the NHRA Official Filter logo on all oil filter products as well as retail promotions aimed at race fans.

"We're very excited about continuing our relationship with the NHRA as its Official Filter," said Jeffrey Bye, vice president of marketing for FRAM. "We are recognizing this by taking it to the FRAM filter consumer for the first time through new packaging and retail promotions. The NHRA fan is a great fit with the FRAM target market, both sharing a commitment to quality automotive care that is fundamental to our brand. With the NHRA endorsement of our products, we look forward to generating even more awareness and recognition for FRAM and for the NHRA."

As part of the agreement, FRAM will maintain several ongoing NHRA programs, including primary sponsorship of Rhonda Hartman-Smith's Top Fuel dragster. FRAM also will continue to be the title sponsor of the FRAM-Autolite Nationals, an NHRA Drag Racing Series event at Sears Point Raceway, Sonoma, Calif.

In addition, the FRAM brand is an active associate sponsor for many NHRA professional teams, including 11-time NHRA Funny Car World Champion John Force. FRAM also participates in NHRA's lucrative contingency program.

Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., the NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States.
