CAMARILLO, CA - DP Technology, software developer of the ESPRIT CAM system, today announced their official sponsorship of PPI Motorsports. This new partnership through the 2002 NASCAR season enables PPIM to use ESPRIT's powerful CAM software in their race shop to machine parts for the company's Nascar Winston Cup cars. Currently, PPIM fields the #96 Happy Meal Ford with Andy Houston and the #32 Tide Ford driven by veteran CART racer Scott Pruett.
The Southern California based PPIM will benefit from full training support, technical assistance, and ESPRIT product upgrades for its Nascar race shop located in Hickory, North Carolina. Bill Haas, DP's resident motorsports expert and genuine car racing fan, believes this is a win-win relationship: "PPIM and ESPRIT working together can tackle the newest, most complex technologies which are inherent to building successful race cars. Utilizing ESPRIT's software to serve this racing community benefits both parties because PPIM can better machine parts to meet individual car specifications and DP, in turn, uses the knowledge gained in these sophisticated machining processes to improve our CAM system." Bill Haas, describing the nature of ESPRIT's sponsorship of PPIM, says, "DP is not a mere name on a car, our product is actively engaged in helping race teams build faster, more competitive race cars."
Cal Wells III, president and owner of PPI Motorsports, concurs that ESPRIT has helped give their racing team a competitive edge: "DP Technology's ESPRIT software raises the bar of our engineering and machining capabilities at PPI Motorsports. Using ESPRIT will help simplify our machining processes while increasing the accuracy and efficiency with which we build our race cars. That's a big gain for our in-house design and manufacturing departments and it also has a positive impact on the way we turn out competitive machines on a weekly basis."
PPI Motorsports joins numerous motorsports teams and automotive manufacturers who count on ESPRIT software to produce winning cars. Alan Johnson's Team Winston Top Fuel dragster, Larry Hedrick Motorsports' #41 Kodiak Chevrolet, and Bill Davis' NASCAR Winston Cup #22 Pontiac Caterpillar car are among the outstanding racing teams who utilize ESPRIT in their shops. DP's CAM system is also instrumental in helping manufacturers, such as Laughlin Racing Products, to build chassis and engine applications for many NASCAR Winston cup and Bush series cars.
