The 4th quarter nomination for the DRIVER OF THE YEAR is out. Race fans can now vote for the driver of their choice to win the 4th quarter honors.

Race fans must log on to ESPN.com and go to motorsports and vote. The winner of the 4th quarter will be announced on the RPM Show on November 25th.

The fourth quarter nominees are as follows:
Tony Stewart
Bobby Labonte
Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
Buddy Lazier
Gil de Ferran
Gary Scelzi
Jeg Coughlin
Danny Lasoski
Matt Kenseth
Allen McNish

The DRIVER OF THE YEAR award is voted on by a 16 member blue ribbon panel of motorsports journalists and commentators, along with the fan vote. Points are awarded on a 9-6-4-3-2-1 basis to the top six drivers each quarter. A final, secret DRIVER OF THE YEAR ballot will be taken at the end of the season to determine the winner for 2000. The winner will then be announced at a New York luncheon and formerly honored at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame inductions in April.
